Elena Theophilidou is a consultant surgeon specialising in hernia and abdominal wall surgery, upper gastrointestinal conditions, and emergency abdominal surgery. She trained across some of the UK's busiest teaching hospitals, including Nottingham University Hospitals and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, before practising as a consultant treating complex and emergency cases.

She holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is certified in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy. Alongside clinical practice, she teaches surgical trainees and is a course instructor for Stop the Bleed, a national programme in the recognition and control of severe bleeding.
